Cutting Ball Theater is hiring Box Office Agents for their 2018/2019 Season from September 2018 – June 2019. The position requires strong customer service skills and cash handling experience. Must be available nights and weekends. Previous experience with OvationTix and Excel preferred.

Compensation is $15/hour.

This is a temporary position with the possibility of extending to future work. A great opportunity for anyone interested in theater!

Summer Marketing and Outreach Intern

  •  Assist with updating and reorganizing the website for Cutting Ball Theater for the 2019-2020 Season as well as archived and informational pages in conjunction with the Managing and Producing Director.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of social media strategies to engage patrons with Cutting Ball’s 2019-20 season and to strengthen general branding for Cutting Ball Theater. This will include assisting with the creation of social media season calendars detailing weekly/daily posts on our various platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) as well as designing and implementing said posts.
  • Intern will assist with roll out of show-based marketing materials and the marketing plan for 2019-2020 season
  • Assist administrative staff with day-to-day operations of Cutting Ball, including but not limited to: mailings, copying, filing, archiving, and other tasks as needed.
  • Identify and reach out to targeted organizations and associations to promote our season and offer group rates.
  • Promote our no-cost student rush tickets to the academic community.
  • Assist Managing and Producing Director in building key partnerships with community partners, promoting our pay-what-you-can tickets to neighborhood residents and workers in the Tenderloin and Central Market areas..
  • Assist in special events, such as our Opening Nights and other donor cultivation events.

This position is ideal for candidates interested in exploring the intersections between marketing, community engagement and communications in the performing arts world. Ideal candidates must be able to multi-task, work independently as well as part of a larger team

Travel Stipend: $250/semester

Academic credit is also available.

Requirements: 20hrs/week between June 2019 and August 2019. Flexible.

Summer Administrative and Development Intern

(2 months between June and end of August 2019)

This position is ideal for candidates interested in the workings and running of a small non-profit arts organization. The Intern will gain experience in project management, grant/individual giving procedures and HR. The intern will do the following:

  • Participate in our subscription renewal campaign in June/July.
  • Assist in individual donations management such as donations tracking and proper acknowledgement.
  • Help compile and write final reports for grants. Research and identify potential new grants for Cutting Ball.
  • HR: write and send out Letters of Agreement and contracts for season contractors and maintain the contract database. Posting new job/internship openings on various websites.
  • Assist in obtaining food and drink donations for various events.

Cutting Ball will offer the intern season subscription for our 2019/20 season. Academic credit is also available.

Hours will be 20h/week for 2 months between June and end of August 2019.

These positions vary in time commitment but average 5-10 hours a week and can be flexible regarding a work or class schedule. These are unpaid internships.
